About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced, collaborative results-oriented individual to join our 10x team as a Facilities, EH&S and Security Manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong safety and facilities background, with demonstrated hands on performance in maintaining functions in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry. The individual shall be capable of working alongside the facilities leadership team in developing, implementing and coordinating EH&S, security and facilities functions according to corporate policy to ensure business continuity, safety and compliance.

This position is based in Hsinchu, Taiwan and reports directly to our Sr Facilities Manager II in Pleasanton, CA (HQ).

What you will be doing:

• Manage support of manufacturing clean rooms with manufacturing operations management. Ensure that all labs and critical manufacturing facilities are maintained at a high level, minimizing down-time
• Manage facilities service tickets, ensuring adequate response times, quality of service and work
• Help develop and manage budget for Taiwan facilities
• Liaison with building management in their responsibility for building systems upkeep, confirming that they provide the contracted services
• Manage after hour emergency response to ensure SLA agreements reflect suitable services, as well as provide adequate coverage by 10x Facilities personnel
• Review and approve of changes to the Facility in alignment with the larger 10x Facilities strategy
• Work with Purchasing to negotiate contracts for facilities vendors (e.g. HVAC, walk-in freezer maintenance), balancing great service levels with competitive pricing
• Assist with EH&S procedures specific to the site such as:
• Injury and Illness Prevention Plan
• Emergency Action Plan
• Chemical Hygiene / Handling Program
• Hazard Communications
• Hazardous Materials and Wastes
• Emergency Response Team
• Safety Committee Meetings
• Ensure a safe work environment and that all practices are in compliance with company and governmental regulations
• Execute excellent safety and environmental practices on a daily basis
• Identify and monitor potential hazards and determine appropriate mitigation technique
• Assist with regulatory inspections to include OSHA, EPA and Fire Department
• Develop and deliver EH&S training, emergency drills and programs
• Assist with maintenance and inspection records of safety related items such as fire protection equipment, emergency shower and eyewash, spill response kits, first aid box, AED, etc.
• Help maintain chemical inventory and SDS system
• Participate and help lead the Emergency Response Team (ERT)
• Standby on emergency situations (after office hours)
• Assist with safety incident investigation and reporting

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelors of Science degree in a science discipline or environmental engineering and relevant experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry
• Minimum of 5 of years experience in EH&S, facilities management and security
• Fluent in English and Mandarin
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Building Management System (BMS) Systems
• Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
• Ability to handle multiple requests, work in a fast-paced environment, and be responsive to employee requests/service issues
• Ability to think “outside the box" and bring creative, nonstandard, and innovative solutions to the table
• Collaborative approach with the team and suppliers
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
• Ability to climb stairs/ladders and lift up to 35 lbs.
