Field Application Scientist, Paris

As a Field Application Scientist (FAS), you will engage with customers daily and be responsible for delivering application and system usage trainings at their sites. Your responsibilities will also include providing support in experimental design, data analysis, logistics, and troubleshooting across your region.

You will be a key contact, working closely with in-house Technical Support to address issues and maintain strong customer relationships. The primary goal of this position is to ensure rapid adoption and maximum success of 10x Genomics’ products. This role will involve frequent travel, primarily within France but also across the EMEA region.

What you will be doing

Communicate:

• Acting as the main point of contact between the customer and company
• Keep customers apprised and trained on advancements in 10x technology and software
• Coordinate and perform customer site trainings and demonstrations
• Identify, document and communicate customer issues; complaints or concerns to management
• Contribute to white papers and documentation with the goal of expanding support content
• Update information in the company's CRM system, adhering to best practices.

Connect:

• Partner scientifically with customers as they develop their research utilizing 10x technologies
• Collaborate in scientific discussions with customers, cultivating long term relationships
• Create and maintain positive working relationships with customers managing their expectations while exceeding their needs
• Gather and deliver strategic and competitive customer feedback, communicating customer use cases beyond initial product scope to Marketing and Product Development teams

Support:

• Troubleshoot issues related to user's technical skills, biochemistry, , experimental design, software and instruments
• Listen to customer needs and identify the proper issue escalation pathway within 10x
• Support the field sales team at trade shows, seminars and technical symposiums (including presentations and networking with Key opinion leaders)
• Handle potentially stressful situations calmly and adroitly

Minimum Requirements

• Master’s degree with experience preferred in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or Genetics
• Demonstrable experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, genomics or genetics
• Knowledge and experience with NGS workflows and data analysis software and/or sorting cytometry and associated analysis software
• Proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service and support
• Demonstrated ability to think critically and solve complex technical problems
• Fluent French and English language skills
• Outstanding presentation and training skills
• Maintain records for customer sites and provide high level feedback to managementAbility to travel as required to be successful in this field based role. Expected to be at least 60% of the time

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or Genetics
• Familiarity with SFDC software
• Hands on proficiency with common molecular biology bench techniques; cell culture experience
• Single cell or Spatial transcriptomics laboratory experience is highly desirable
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and prioritise tasks
