About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated, collaborative, and results-oriented Senior Buyer to support our US Global Procurement team. This role is responsible for purchasing NPI pre-production indirect and direct production instruments and consumable raw materials, as well as managing key supplier relationships for assigned categories. Must be able to work onsite in Pleasanton CA.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Provide procurement support to the 10x R&D team for purchasing and tracking components used in the development and launch of new instruments and consumables
- Manage communication with key pre-production and production raw material suppliers; serve as the primary point of contact for supplier communication and issue resolution within assigned categories
- Ensure timely issuance of purchase orders to support manufacturing needs
- Set up and maintain purchasing and sourcing-related data fields for assigned materials and suppliers within the ERP system
- Monitor purchase order status and proactively update or escalate issues as needed
- Assist the Accounting team with invoice reconciliation and resolution of discrepancies
- Lead or support RFQ/RFP initiatives
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 6+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or related operations roles
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to clearly communicate complex ideas both verbally and in writing
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and service-focused mindset
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Economics
- Direct procurement or supply chain experience within a life sciences, medical device, or biotechnology organization
- Experience working on cross-functional project teams with diverse stakeholders
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and planning tools such as Oracle, SAP, QAD, or similar manufacturing software (10x currently uses Oracle for P2P management)
