The Role

As Employment Counsel at 6sense, you will be an integral part of the legal team, advising on employment and litigation matters in our fast-paced and high-growth organization with terrific customers and a creative, dedicated, fun, and talented team. We are looking for a sharp-minded, enthusiastic, results-oriented and resourceful individual who wants to be part of a close and collaborative legal and compliance team in a dynamic, SaaS-based marketing and analytics company

Responsibilities

  • Provide counseling on all aspects of the employment relationship, including recruiting, hiring, performance management and discipline, employee mobility, compensation and benefits, leaves of absence and accommodations, wage and hour, investigations and contractor/contingent workforce issues.
  • Work with cross-functional partners to evaluate employment practices, policies, and processes to ensure compliance with multijurisdictional laws.
  • Investigate and respond to claims, complaints, audits, and other employment-related inquiries.
  • Manage employment litigation, including case strategy and communications with external counsel and internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee the drafting and negotiation of employment-related agreements, including severance, separation and other employment related agreement; draft employee-facing policies, handbooks and other resources.
  • Provide advice on expansion to various countries, driving the employment function.
  • Stay current with labor and employment regulations, trends and best practices and provide forward thinking and actionable advice to key internal stakeholders.
  • Serve as a central point of contact on the Legal team for all pre-litigation disputes.

Your Experience And Skills Required

  • Attorney in good standing in the United States, admitted to the California bar.
  • At least 5+ years of labor and employment experience, with law firm or in-house position at tech, SaaS-based company preferred.
  • In depth knowledge of U.S. employment laws and regulations, including Title VII, ADA, FMLA/CFRA, EEO, NLRA, wage and hour laws (Cal. Labor Code/FLSA) and other federal and local laws.
  • Knowledge and experience with international employment laws and regulations (UK, Canada, India, Singapore) a plus.
  • Experience resolving complex and sensitive employee relations and compliance issues.
  • Ability to independently identify issues and develop solutions to employment-related matters.

Base Salary Range: $180,000 - $192,394.80.The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including but not limited to work location and experience. The base salary is one component of 6sense’s total compensation package for this position. Other compensation may include a bonus program or commission plan, and stock options if approved by 6sense’s board. In addition, 6sense provides a variety of benefits, including generous health insurance coverage, life, and disability insurance, a 401K employer matching program, paid holidays, self-care days, and paid time off (PTO). #Li-remote
