We are looking for a Clinical Medical Assistant (Registered or Certified) to join our family. This position’s clinical duties include taking medical histories and recording vital signs, explaining treatment procedures to patients, preparing patients for examination, and assisting the provider during the examination. They may receive direction from an MD, mid-level provider and or the office manager. Administrative duties may include, but not limited to answering telephones, greeting patients, updating and importing scanned documents into patient medical records/ practice management systems, scheduling appointments, handling correspondence and performing patient outreach.

Medical Assistant (Registered or Certified) qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Certification(s)/Licensure: RMA, CMA

Medical Assistant (Registered or Certified) Key Responsibilities:

  • Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned and within the MA scope of practice to include preparing for next days visits by printing med lists, labs, hospital notes, tests, huddle sheets
  • Assist patient in navigating care through the encounter process, vital signs, patient history, medication reconciliation, in-house labs, procedure assistance and specimen collection including lab requisition order placement and form preparation
  • Accurately document all aspects of patient encounters
  • Tracks and document closed loop communication with patients, including but not limited to labs, return calls, refills and more
  • Communicate with external and internal parties as needed to facilitate continuity of care
  • Fulfills supportive assignment on time and unprompted. Assignments may include but are not limited performing controls, instrument maintenance, infection control, ordering, sorting, storing supplies, and restocking
  • Patient teaching and care plan support
  • Guard patient privacy and comply with HIPAA regulations at all times
  • Reaching out to assigned chronically ill patients monthly to check-in on healthcare status and any special needs between visits
  • Participates in staff meetings as required
  • Complete annual competencies within the required period
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language in person, by phone and in writing.
