Position: Medical Office Receptionist
Salary: From $12.00 per hour

Schedule: 8-12 hour shift, some Saturday’s, 40-50 hrs/week
Education: High school or equivalent (Required)
Experience: Customer Service: 1 year (Preferred); Computer Skills: 1 year (Preferred)
Language: English and Spanish (Preferred)


  • Relate to patients in a professional and friendly manner; exhibit compassion for their needs
  • Maintain composure in stressful situations, be neat in appearance, possess excellent communication skills


  • Welcome patients and visitors to the medical office by greeting them in person and on the telephone; answering inquiries and/or referring questions to other staff members
  • Schedule appointments for the medical providers to optimize patient satisfaction as well as provider time
  • Input, maintain and update demographic and insurance information in the electronic medical record
  • Obtain pertinent paperwork and insure it is completed accurately
  • Make daily patient appointment reminder phone calls
  • Ensure front desk and waiting room remain neat and orderly at all times
  • Assist ill and/or distraught patients as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned by office manager


  • Open office at beginning of the day and/or close the office at the end of the day; as shift dictates
  • Perform all duties in a timely and efficient manner
  • Be familiar with insurance procedures
  • Assist other staff members with duties as work load dictates


  • Graduate of certified medical office training course, preferred
  • High school graduate or equivalent, required
  • Personality and demeanor to deal with the public on a daily basis
  • Basic office skills (typing, filing, scanning)
  • Good sense of organization
  • Excellent communication skills
