As Director of Risk Stratification Product, you will act as the single-threaded Product owner of all analytics, data and software work in support of Aledade’s Risk Stratification product. The primary goals of the Risk Stratification product is to support Aledade primary care practices in their work to improve patients’ clinical outcomes through accurate diagnosis documentation and coding. This includes sourcing a broad range of structured and unstructured clinical and administrative data; applying clinical expertise and advanced analysis methods to these data to identify patient centric opportunities; delivering these opportunities through various channels facilitating value based care workflows including the Aledade app and electronic health records; and understanding the impact of Risk Stratification product features and workflows on patient and business outcomes.
This role works alongside business owners, data analysts, designers and engineers to define project goals, solution scope, implementation approach, and rollout plans and is the interface between strategic business owners and development and ensures that Aledade creates a high-quality product with the ability to scale and transform our business.
Responsibilities of the Director of Risk Stratification include:

Understand the Problem Space

  • Work with business teams to understand key cross-functional operational workflows, perform current state assessments, and identify gaps to address.

Drive Strategy and Propose Cross-functional Solutions

  • Distill product strategies into actionable concepts, timelines, and projects, taking ownership to maintain continuous alignment with broader business objectives and goals
  • Align vision with functional leads and executive leadership to gain buy-in and commitment.
  • Build and maintain a product roadmap that develops short- and long-term roadmaps that deliver maximum value with minimum risk and assume ongoing iteration. Lead product forums with senior leaders in Product and Operations to gain buy-in, align plans, and make trade-off decisions between competing priorities.
  • In collaboration with business stakeholders and technology partners, devise strategies to de-risk key workflows.

Manage and Execute

  • Work with functional leaders from multiple operational teams to plan and execute rollout of new workflows to users. Assist business leaders with documentation, training, and other support to manage changes.
  • Partner with engineering leaders on the data teams to drive changes to our data infrastructure to support operational workflows.

Communicate

  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders, product leads, and executive leadership. Lead regular Steering Committee meetings to keep the organization apprised of strategy, efforts, and progress against goals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of experience in product management or process innovation roles
  • 6+ years of related leadership experience
  • Expertise in risk adjustment and risk stratification in Medicare and other lines of business including Medicaid and commercial insurance.
  • Experience using data and primary research to inform solution design and build internal business understanding.
  • Experience with and understanding of the software development lifecycle and software development methodologies. Preferably experience with Agile / Scrum teams.
  • Product development experience in the context of the development of a healthcare technology product.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with an emphasis on problem-solving and building subject matter expertise.
  • Understanding of healthcare administrative and clinical workflows for risk documentation.
  • Knowledge of healthcare administrative and clinical data sets, including demographic, financial and clinical data.
  • Experience working with EHR, practice management, revenue cycle or population health products.
  • Knowledge of SQL.
  • Knowledge of alternative payment models related to primary care such as Medicare Shared Savings Program ACOs and commercial insurance shared savings programs.
