Position: Medical Assistant
Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our primary care office. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient and effective patient care. You will work alongside our healthcare team to provide clinical and administrative support, creating a positive and welcoming environment for our patients.
Clinical Duties:
- Assist healthcare providers in the examination and treatment of patients.
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, documenting medical history, and updating patient information in electronic health records (EHR).
- Perform basic medical procedures such as administering injections, taking blood samples, and collecting specimens for laboratory testing.
- Perform routine tests and procedures, such as EKGs, spirometry, and vision screenings.
- Assist with minor surgical procedures, ensuring proper sterilization and handling of instruments.
- Educate patients on medication administration, diet, and other healthcare instructions.
- Maintain and stock examination rooms with necessary supplies and equipment.
Administrative Duties:
- Greet patients and ensure a friendly and professional atmosphere in the waiting area.
- Schedule appointments, update patient information, and verify insurance coverage.
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct messages to appropriate staff members.
- Manage medical records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Assist in billing and coding processes, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Coordinate referrals to specialists, diagnostic facilities, and other healthcare providers.
- Assist in maintaining office cleanliness and organization.
Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, nurses, and other medical assistants to ensure smooth workflow and patient satisfaction.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with patients, addressing their concerns and ensuring their understanding of instructions.
