The Financial Specialist will support success across Aledade’s Medicare Advantage value-based contracts. Under the direction of the Director of Financial Performance, the Financial Specialist will analyze financial performance in Aledade’s Medicare Advantage value-based contracts by performing complex quantitative analysis on health care cost, utilization and risk adjustment data. In addition this analyst will perform analysis and modeling to support negotiations with payer partners and strategize on ACO performance improvements for field teams.
Primary Duties:
- Develop modeling for financial projections for MA VBC ACOs. Manipulate and navigate reports through SQL to extract complex healthcare information (e.g., unit cost, resource utilization, etc.). Develop financial models to calculate revenue and claims trends to generate short and long term revenue projections for Aledade ACO arrangements.
- Develop and maintain MA financial reporting tools. Assuring that monthly financial reports are up to date with the most recent claims data. Peer review financial projections of team members. These MA financial modeling tools are crucial for market leadership and other members of the team to understand trends in our data. The majority of this time will be translating data into Google Sheets, Tableau, and presentations for central and market teams.
- Serve as subject matter expert on MA financials to strategize with performance and field teams on ACO performance and improvement opportunities. Strategize means coming up with recommendations on practices, areas of improvement and other areas related to Aledade’s performance based on independent research that is vetted by their manager - they should be able to synthesize, understand, recommend and have it reviewed. This work also includes evaluating pilots and other performance opportunities.
- Support payer partnership negotiations by modeling performance and creating recommendations for financial terms. This looks like assisting the SPP department on MA analytical modeling - this includes analyzing contracts, being the primary contact for modeling when they need a recommendation for contract negotiations or status.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Excellent quantitative analysis skills with 5 years experience in healthcare analytics (payer / provider / vendor)
- 4 years of Intermediate data manipulation skills (SQL/SAS/R)
- 4 years of advanced spreadsheet skills (Excel / Google sheets)
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3-5 experience in Medicare Advantage economics (bidding, P&L management, policy…)
- Ability to create and translate complex analysis to executive presentations for senior leadership
- Experience with value based care
- Actuarial skills (pricing / forecasting)
