Position: Front Desk Receptionist
Established, fast paced primary care office looking for a reliable, well-organized Front Desk Receptionist to work directly with our staff and patients. Receptionist will greet people when they come in, answer phone calls, schedule appointments while building an excellent rapport with our patients. Open office setting with a collaborative team and positive office culture.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Greeting patients, vendors, and guests
- Scheduling appointments
- Scanning and filing a current copy of the patient's insurance card and driver's license
- Verifying patient insurance coverage
- Obtaining and updating existing patient demographics
- Collecting any outstanding balances, co-pays, deductibles and co-insurance
- Explaining to patients the coverage amounts provided by their insurance policy so they can understand why some services may be covered, while others are not
- Answering all phone calls and routing to appropriate personnel
- Processing incoming faxes
- Keeping the reception area clean and organized
- Using computers to enter, access, or retrieve data
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous medical office experience preferred
- Basic computer skills to complete administrative tasks
- Prior experience in a medical office preferred, but not required
- Ability to work as part of a team with minimal supervision
- Great communication and customer service skills
- General understanding of health care insurances and billing practices
- Knowledge of CPT billing codes and ICD 10 codes is a plus
- Willingness to learn
