Medical Office Specialist

Detweiler Family Medicine is seeking help at our Family Medicine Practice located in Lansdale PA.

Our office needs a few friendly and organized Medical Office Specialists to keep our patient schedule running smoothly. In this role, you will greet and check patients in when they arrive, collect insurance information, retrieve medical records, file patient forms, answer phones, and schedule appointments. After verifying insurance coverage, you will be responsible for collecting co-pays and documenting payment into our system. As the patients leave, you will also make sure they have scheduled any necessary follow-up appointments. Your goal will be to provide excellent customer service to our patients.

Duties and Responsibilities

•Greet patients as they arrive

•Check patients into the system and obtain updated contact information and insurance cards

•Verify coverage and collect co-pays

•Answer phones

•Schedule appointments

•File and organize patient records

Requirements and Qualifications

•A high school diploma or equivalent

•At least one year of experience in a medical office (preferred)

•Proficient with basic computer programs

•Excellent communication and organizational skills

•Attention to detail

•The ability to pass a background check and drug test

•COVID vaccinated & Tobacco free

Flexibility to work a changing shift schedule is required for all positions. Evenings and some Saturdays are required. Schedules are posted two weeks in advance. Please do not apply if you are unable to work this schedule.

Office Hours:

Monday: 8 AM to 8 PM

Tuesday: 8 AM to 8 PM

Wednesday: 8 AM to 8 PM

Thursday: 8 AM to 8 PM

Friday: 8 AM to 4:00 PM

Saturday: 8 AM to 4:00 PM
