Aledade is recruiting for 2026 Summer Interns! Interns receive guidance from senior leaders and take part in substantive, hands-on projects that foster an understanding of overall operations at Aledade and the function of our complex healthcare system in general. This internship will begin on June 1st, 2026, and last for 10 weeks until August 7th, 2026.
The medical student intern will engage in a hands-on, population health-focused VBC project under the supervision of the Population Health Impact team in partnership with Aledade First. The intern will choose from the topics below and complete a deliverable based on the nature of their project. Acceptable deliverables include a white paper, educational material for practices and patients, and/or other media designed to improve population health in the communities we serve. This internship is a great opportunity for rising second to third year medical students to accompany their medical and clinical training with exposure to value-based care and population health principles.
Potential Project Topics:
- Community Deprivation Index and its impact on Value-Based Care performance
- Impact of Gemba Walks on patient engagement and activation in locations with high community deprivation index (CDI) scores
- Population Health Assessments for Primary Care Practices
- Reducing health disparities in diabetes for historically marginalized communities
- CLAS Standards and Evaluation of Health Literacy for Patient Engagement
- UniteUs Impact on Social Drivers of Health for Rural Communities
Additional Scope of Work:
- Lead a weekly 30 minute journal club discussion for the Population Health Impact team presenting literature on a topic related to their project
- Attend a minimum of one practice visit Gemba Walk with a member of the Population Health Impact team
- Learn about the Aledade First program and connect with current residents
- Complete meet & greets and mentorships with designated Aledaders
In addition to taking ownership over substantial projects, an Aledade Intern will also:
- Attend meetings with a cohort of other Interns where you will hear from leaders across the company, participate in professional development programming, and touch base with other Interns.
- Gain exposure to senior executives and industry leaders.
- Develop expertise in areas including healthcare policy, programming languages, business operations, Medicare, and commercial payer contracts and clinical workflows.
- Have the opportunity to attend relevant events and trainings in the healthcare field.
The ideal candidate will have prior internship experience, a strong record of academic success and will be:
- Passionate about healthcare and interested in making a positive impact in the field.
- A self-starter who is able to take initiative and ownership of projects.
- A collaborative team player.
- Detail oriented and self-motivated to produce work that meets high standards
- A rising second to third year medical student in good academic standing
