About the position
Altruist is entering an exciting phase, and we're looking for a Director of Mutual Fund Operations to join our Back Office Operations team.
What you’ll do
- Strategically develop an industry-leading mutual fund offering
- Identify, hire, and develop diverse, talented mutual fund and operations professionals
- Lead the team responsible for the reconciliation and monitoring of the end-to-end mutual fund process
- Ensure strong relationships exist with mutual fund companies and establish/modify selling agreements as needed
- Coordinate the onboarding and conversion of mutual funds
- Ensure proper processes, controls, and compliance are in place and upheld
- Point person with key business and industry partners such as SS&C, FIS, Matrix, and the NSCC
- Define and enhance business processes and requirements to efficiently and effectively scale while maintaining control and compliance
- Leverage OKRs and other data to identify opportunities to further the mutual fund operation through operational enhancements, product offerings, and additional offerings
- Support advisor escalations and perform advisor outbound calls when necessary (operations issues)
- Resolve complex business issues, provide critical business updates, participate in business planning, and be a key partner across sales, client success, operations, compliance, etc…
- Responsible for ensuring the proper cancellation, correction, rebooking, fail clean-ups, and recording trades into uncleared suspense accounts or other accounts occur daily
- Amend business rules and internal controls as needed
What you’ll bring
- FINRA Series 7 & 24 are highly preferred
- 5+ years of Mutual Fund leadership experience
- Entrepreneurial attitude and a deep empathy for our customers
- Superior organizational skills
- Proven track record of outperforming benchmarks and achieving goals
- Excellent analytical, research, and decision-making skills
- Exceptional executive-level communication skills with the ability to easily convey complex matters in an easy-to-understand manner
- Deep understanding of securities trading processes and applicable securities laws and regulations
- Demonstrated ability to apply technology to enhance business processes
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent working experience and a Master’s degree preferred

Total compensation includes a competitive benefits package along with equity in the form of Stock Options (ISOs). A salary offer will be determined by a number of factors including experience, skill level, internal pay equity, geographic location, and other relevant business considerations.
