The opportunity

Altruist is thrilled to hire a Director/Sr. Director of Execution Services to join our quickly scaling team! This role will oversee and optimize trading execution across multiple asset classes, including Equities, ETFs, Fixed Income, and Options, managing relationships with market makers, exchanges, and dealers. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of regulatory requirements, execution quality, and financial modeling for trading P&L. This is an in-person position based in Dallas, reports to the Head of Clearing Operations, and requires up to 25% travel to maintain key partnerships.

Your impact

  • Strategic Leadership - Drive growth and scalability in trading operations, leading strategic planning, setting objectives, and shaping execution strategies.
  • Relationship Management - Build and maintain relationships with market makers, exchanges, and dealers, ensuring high-quality execution services and alignment with business goals.
  • Execution Quality & Regulatory Compliance - Oversee processes to meet regulatory requirements, including SEC 606 and 607 reporting, and continuously monitor performance against industry benchmarks.
  • Financial Modeling - Develop and oversee financial models and projections for trading P&L to optimize profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration - Work closely with product, engineering, legal, compliance, operations, and risk teams to ensure alignment with regulatory standards and trading policies.
  • Technology & Process Improvement - Identify and implement technology enhancements to improve execution efficiency, transparency, and regulatory compliance.
  • Industry Thought Leadership - Serve as an advisor on best practices for Trade Desk Operations, focusing on designing scalable solutions and enhancing operational efficiency. Stay ahead of market structure, trading execution trends, and regulatory developments to guide strategic decision-making and ensure industry-leading performance.

What you bring

  • Experience - 10+ years in trading or execution services within financial services, especially in Equities, ETFs, Fixed Income, and Options, with at least 5 years of management experience.
  • Licenses - Active FINRA Series 4, 7, 24, 57 (or commitment to obtaining within six months).
  • Technical Skills - Strong proficiency in financial modeling, trading technology, and API/FIX protocols.
  • Strategic & Analytical Skills - Resourceful and resilient, with strategic thinking, strong analytical abilities, and a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
  • Communication - Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a talent for building strong relationships across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Preferred Qualifications - Experience with digital asset platforms, additional industry certifications, and expertise in emerging trading technologies.

Total compensation includes a competitive benefits package along with equity in the form of Stock Options (ISOs). A salary offer will be determined by a number of factors including experience, skill level, internal pay equity, geographic location, and other relevant business considerations. Base salaries will be reviewed at regular intervals throughout the year, typically in conjunction with performance review cycles.
