About Job

We're looking for a highly motivated Solutions Engineer to join our Solutions organization, reporting to the Head of Solutions Engineering. This is a customer-facing, hands-on role working directly with customers to scope, design, build, and deploy production solutions on the Archetype AI platform.

You'll partner with Sales and Product during early engagements, then own technical execution across applications, integrations, pipelines, and real customer environments. We're especially interested in engineers who have shipped end-to-end solutions from edge devices to cloud and are comfortable deploying and benchmarking software across diverse edge hardware.

You should be equally comfortable presenting architectures and results to customers and writing the code that makes the system work.

This forward-deployed role is based in Japan, with significant onsite customer work and regular travel within Japan, across Asia-Pacific, and to our San Mateo headquarters.

What You'll Own

• Customer solutions reach production and deliver the agreed technical outcomes.

• Edge-to-cloud deployments meet reliability, latency, throughput, and resource targets.

• POCs produce clear technical evidence and a credible path to production.

• Integrations work reliably across customer systems, protocols, hardware, and data flows.

• Deployment patterns, tooling, and documentation become repeatable across customers.

Key Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience across backend, cloud, and edge systems.

• Business-level Japanese and English, with confidence working directly with enterprise customers.

• Strong Python and TypeScript, plus practical experience in Rust or C++.

• Proven experience deploying and benchmarking software on Linux-based edge hardware.

• Experience building real-time data pipelines and integrating APIs, MQTT, OPC-UA, Modbus, or similar.

• Prior solutions engineering, consulting, or forward-deployed experience owning customer delivery.

Nice to Have

• Experience with industrial IoT, predictive maintenance, or safety applications.

• Production experience with applied AI/ML, multimodal systems, or signal processing.

• Experience building customer-facing UIs and real-time data visualizations.

• Experience creating SDKs, frameworks, or internal developer tools.

• Experience delivering solutions for large enterprise customers with complex stakeholders.
