Description
We’re looking for a Senior Platform Backend Engineer who’s passionate about building scalable, secure, and high-performing systems. In this role, you’ll own the backend foundation of our cybersecurity platform, shaping its architecture, performance, and reliability. You’ll collaborate closely with Product, Customer Success, and R&D teams to deliver features that make a real impact for our users.
About the role
- Own the platform backend - Take full ownership of the design, development, and evolution of our platform’s backend - the backbone that powers our cybersecurity products and integrations - You’ll be responsible for defining and implementing the architecture that ensures scalability, reliability, and security across all services. Your work will directly influence system performance, developer productivity, and the customer experience.
- Build across teams - Partner with Product, R&D, and Customer Success to translate business and technical requirements into production-ready solutions that drive measurable value.
- Leverage a modern stack - Work hands-on with Node.js, TypeScript, Python, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, GraphQL, Kubernetes, Lambda, and cloud-native services on AWS and GCP.
- Develop microservices - Design and implement modular, scalable microservices and APIs with strong observability, resiliency, and performance characteristics.
- Champion technical excellence - Drive improvements in system design, code quality, automation, and testing. Mentor peers and help shape best practices across the engineering organization.
- Innovate continuously - Evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and architectural patterns to evolve the platform and support new product capabilities.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in backend engineering.
- Proven experience building systems from the ground up, from design to deployment.
- Deep understanding of cloud-based architectures using microservices, serverless, or Kubernetes.
- Experience developing scalable, event-driven systems capable of handling high throughput.
- Strong familiarity with monitoring and observability tools.
- A proactive mindset, ownership mentality, and collaborative spirit.
