Exciting opportunity in immuno-oncology research

This is a lab-based position, working in our team of cell biologists and immunologists on the in vitro characterisation of novel cytokine therapeutics. The ideal candidate will be passionate about cell culture and applying this to drug discovery. An interest in assay development, flow cytometry and immune cell activation mechanisms will be a big advantage. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform biochemical and cell biological assays to profile and screen compounds
  • Perform cellular biology experiments to discover and validate new targets primarily relevant to cancer and immuno-oncology
  • Implement new cellular and biochemical assays for compound profiling
  • Work independently with minimal supervision to design and conduct experiments, analyze, interpret and communicate data in team meetings
  • Involvement in cell biology lab management and organization

Skills:

  • Hands-on experience in biochemical, molecular biological and/or cell biological techniques is required.
  • Experience in culturing mammalian cells and sterile technique is required.
  • Experience with preparing and characterising primary - especially immune cells - is an advantage.
  • Hands-on experience with cell-based assays, flow cytometry and immunological methods is highly desirable.
  • Enthusiasm for developing, applying and optimizing new protocols and techniques.
  • Well-organized, highly motivated and quick to learn.
  • Good English communication skills, both oral and written.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Apprenticeship/BSc/MSc in biological science or related field.
  • 2+ years experience of cell culture in a molecular biology, biochemistry or cell biology lab.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively without supervision.
  • Swiss/EU citizenship or current Swiss work permit.
