Job Description Summary

The Senior Data Analyst is a skilled individual contributor who transforms complex healthcare data into clear, actionable insights that drive clinical, operational, and financial performance across CareMore Health. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, analytics, and healthcare strategy — partnering with clinical teams, care management, finance, and operations to answer the questions that matter most to CareMore's patients and business. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, comfortable with ambiguity, and motivated by the opportunity to use data to improve lives.

How will you make an impact & Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Insight Generation

  • Design and execute complex analyses across clinical, claims, operational, and membership datasets to surface trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Develop and maintain population health analyses identifying high-risk patient cohorts for proactive care management intervention
  • Analyze medical cost trends, utilization patterns, and quality metrics (e.g., hospital admissions, readmissions, HEDIS measures) to support clinical and financial strategy
  • Translate analytical findings into clear narratives and recommendations for clinical, operational, and executive audiences

Reporting & Dashboarding

  • Build, maintain, and enhance recurring reports and dashboards that track KPIs across care quality, cost, membership, and care center operations
  • Develop self-service analytics tools and data products that empower non-technical stakeholders to access and interpret data independently
  • Support monthly and quarterly business reviews with timely, accurate performance reporting
  • Ensure data quality and consistency across reporting outputs, proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Partner with clinical leadership, care coordinators, and disease management teams to design and evaluate program effectiveness using data
  • Collaborate with the finance team to support medical cost analyses, budget variance investigations, and PMPM trend reporting
  • Work with the technology and data engineering teams to improve data infrastructure, pipelines, and data governance practices
  • Support ad hoc analytical requests from senior leadership, responding quickly with rigorous, well-documented analysis

Data Stewardship

  • Maintain documentation for datasets, data dictionaries, and analytical methodologies to ensure reproducibility and institutional knowledge
  • Uphold data privacy and security standards in compliance with HIPAA and CareMore's internal data governance policies
  • Identify gaps in available data and work collaboratively to close them through new data sources or improved collection practices

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Biostatistics, Health Informatics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 4+ years of experience in a data analyst or related role, with at least 2 years in healthcare, managed care, or a population health setting
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL for querying large, complex relational databases
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker
  • Strong working knowledge of healthcare data types including medical claims, pharmacy claims, eligibility/enrollment data, and EMR data
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex data into clear, compelling presentations for non-technical audiences
  • Familiarity with value-based care concepts including risk stratification, quality measures (HEDIS, STARS), and utilization management

Preferred

  • Experience with Python or R for statistical analysis, data wrangling, or automation
  • Exposure to Medicare Advantage or Medicaid managed care data environments
  • Understanding of CMS risk adjustment models (HCC coding, RAF scores)
  • Experience working with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, or AWS Redshift
  • Familiarity with HIPAA data handling requirements and healthcare data governance best practices
