About the Role

Collate is looking for an Account Executive (SAE) who will be responsible for driving revenue growth by developing and managing a portfolio of high-value accounts. You’ll engage senior decision-makers—CIOs, CDOs, CISOs, and data leaders—understanding their data challenges and positioning our solutions as the foundation for data trust, governance, and intelligence. This is a highly consultative role requiring deep industry knowledge, strategic account planning, and a proven ability to close complex enterprise deals.


What You’ll Do

  • Own the Sales Cycle: Drive the full enterprise sales process from prospecting to close, with an emphasis on multi-stakeholder engagement and long-term account expansion.

  • Strategic Account Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with executives and decision-makers across IT, data, compliance, and business units.

  • Consultative Selling: Understand customers’ data governance, compliance, and intelligence needs, and position our platform to deliver measurable business value.

  • Territory & Pipeline Growth: Develop and execute an account strategy including proactive pipeline generation.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with Sales Engineering, Customer Success, Product, and Marketing to align solutions to customer objectives and ensure successful adoption.

  • Forecasting & Reporting: Maintain accurate pipeline forecasting and provide insights to leadership on opportunities, risks, and competitive landscape.

  • Thought Leadership: Represent the company at industry events, webinars, and customer forums as a trusted advisor in the data intelligence space.


What You Bring

  • Experience: 5–7+ years of enterprise sales experience, with at least 3–5 years selling data governance, data intelligence, data management, or related enterprise SaaS solutions.

  • Track Record: Consistent achievement of $1M+ annual quota in complex enterprise sales environments.

  • Enterprise Expertise: Deep understanding of how large organizations manage data strategy, governance, compliance (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc.), and analytics.

  • C-Level Engagement: Proven success engaging and influencing senior executives (CIO, CDO, CISO, Head of Data/Analytics).

  • Skills: Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and presentation abilities; excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Mindset: Self-starter, results-driven, highly collaborative, and comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-growing environment.


Nice to Have

  • Experience with OpenMetadata, data catalogs, or observability platforms.

  • Familiarity with AI/ML workflows and how metadata can drive trust in AI.

  • Experience with SQL, Python, or other scripting languages for prototyping solutions.

  • Knowledge of modern data ecosystems (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, etc.).

  • Familiarity with adjacent solutions (Alation, Collibra, Atlan, Datahub, etc.).
