We are looking for a Lead Frontend Engineer to help shape the next generation of the Collate user experience.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead and evolve Collate's frontend architecture, establishing scalable patterns and best practices across the UI.

  • Build high-quality, performant user experiences using React, TypeScript, Vite, Tailwind CSS, Untitled UI, and Node.js.

  • Translate complex data, governance, lineage, observability, and AI workflows into intuitive, polished user experiences.

  • Partner closely across the organization to deliver features from concept through production.

  • Establish and maintain a consistent, reusable component and design system using Untitled UI + Tailwind CSS.

  • Define and improve frontend testing, quality, and reliability practices using Playwright and automated CI/CD.

  • Mentor frontend engineers, lead code reviews and architectural decisions, and help raise the overall engineering bar.

  • Improve frontend developer productivity through better tooling, documentation, development workflows, and automation.

What you bring

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, with significant experience building complex web applications.

  • Deep expertise in React and TypeScript, with strong knowledge of modern frontend architecture and development patterns.

  • Strong experience with Vite, Tailwind CSS, and component-based design systems; experience with Untitled UI is a plus.

  • Strong experience with Playwright or similar end-to-end testing frameworks and a commitment to automated quality.

  • Solid understanding of Node.js, REST APIs, web performance, accessibility, responsive design, and frontend security.

  • Experience building SaaS applications, preferably complex, data-intensive, or enterprise products.

  • Strong product and design sensibility, with the ability to turn complex technical concepts into simple, intuitive experiences.

  • Demonstrated technical leadership, mentoring ability, and strong collaboration skills across Engineering, Product, and Design.
