Job Description Summary
The International FSHD & DMD Executive Director leads the pre-launch and launch preparations of the asset from a commercial perspective, while orchestrating all key functions to ensure seamless execution. This role is accountable for shaping the asset during the Full Development Phase (FDP) in close collaboration with the US and Development teams and for driving the development and implementation of a comprehensive, cross-functional go-to-market launch strategy. The incumbent will partner closely with Top Int 11 markets, and coordinate efforts across V&A team, Int Medical Affairs, Launch Excellence & Execution, Customer & Market Activation, Int Business Ops to align deliverables and ensure integrated planning and execution.
Job Description
Major Accountabilities:
Early Asset Shaping & Pre-Launch Readiness
Shape and prepare the asset for commercialization, focusing on the needs of Top 3 International markets and key emerging markets.
Lead the development of transformative Target Product Profiles (TPPs), providing clear guidance to Development teams on evidence requirements.
Align asset shaping and readiness with Full Development Phase (FDP) and Submission Decision Point (SDP) milestones, maximizing patient access and commercial potential.
Define and implement Therapeutic Area (TA) frameworks for above-country health systems, policy strategy, and precision diagnostics.
Drive robust forecasting for top international markets, ensuring data-driven decision-making.
Provide strategic leadership for impactful, actionable asset preparation strategies.
Co-develop early Medical Affairs strategy (scientific platform, disease awareness, expert engagement) as part of integrated launch readiness.
Ensure delivery of early access, reimbursement, and pricing strategies (Integrated Product Access Strategy) to shape the value proposition for HCPs, payers, patients, and health systems.
Lead cross-functional stakeholder mapping, prioritization, and engagement planning.
Post-Handover Strategic Alignment & Commercial Transition

Represent International market requirements in all critical commercial deliverables, ensuring alignment with US and global teams:
Commercial input into TPP, brand identity, global value proposition, and strategic lifecycle management (LCM) plan.
Communication pillars, guidelines, and pricing approach (in partnership with Value & Access).
10-year forecast and launch forecast for International markets.
Facilitate best practice sharing and information exchange with US counterparts (competitive insights, KPIs, stakeholder engagement).
Integrated Launch Planning & Execution
Lead the development and operationalization of cross-functional launch plans for Top 11 International markets, ensuring alignment with the International Launch Excellence framework.
Build and refine the One Brand Plan (One BP) for International markets, adapting strategies to local needs.
Facilitate cross-functional decision-making on strategic imperatives, partnerships, and policy shaping.
Drive delivery of strategic objectives, customer segmentation, go-to-market (GTM) principles, and major investments.
Collaborate with Medical Affairs and Value & Access to adapt strategies and messaging for key countries.
Ensure organizational launch readiness, identifying and securing TA/asset-specific capabilities, structures, processes, and infrastructure (e.g., NCPs, manufacturing).
Monitor and respond to major events and competitive landscape developments post-launch.
Lead and deploy Launch Readiness Reviews (LRRs) for International top markets, ensuring rigorous pre-launch preparation and post-launch performance tracking.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration (Embedded Across All Phases)
Orchestrate and lead cross-functional teams (Commercial, Medical Affairs, Value & Access, Business Operations, Insights & Analytics, Finance, Corporate Affairs) to ensure integrated planning and execution.
Champion a collaborative, matrixed way of working, embedding best practices and knowledge sharing across International, regional, and country teams.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Drive talent development and capability building within the organization, fostering a high-performance culture.
Governance & Ways of Working
Establish and maintain effective governance structures (cross-functional asset teams, squads, and forums) to drive decision-making, prioritization, and accountability.
Coordinate with regions and countries to ensure seamless strategy deployment, feedback loops, and adaptation to local market needs.
Leverage critical business processes (e.g., Integrated Insights, Financial Planning, Access Strategy, Launch Planning) to deliver on strategic objectives.
Requirements:
Mandatory:
Minimum 12 years of progressive experience across commercial functions (sales, marketing, commercial strategy, medical affairs, value & access), including direct responsibility for asset commercialization from early development through post-launch.)
Demonstrated experience owning and driving the successful commercialization of assets across the full lifecycle—from early development, through pre-launch, launch, and post-launch phases—in Top 10 International markets (especially Germany, China, and Japan). Proven ability to enable successful launch and sustained growth in market, with hands-on leadership in both established and emerging markets.
Proven ability to lead and align cross-functional teams (Commercial, Medical Affairs, Value & Access, Business Operations, Insights & Analytics, Corporate Affairs) in a highly matrixed, multicultural environment, driving integrated launch strategies and stakeholder consensus.
Significant above-country experience, including participation in governance structures, decision-making forums, and cross-divisional stakeholder management.
Previous experience in launching a highly innovative therapy in rare diseases, understanding customer behaviours & patient journeys, competitive landscape, and healthcare system dynamics.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with demonstrated expertise in forecasting, scenario planning, and data-driven decision-making to maximize patient access and commercial opportunity.
Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to drive alignment and consensus among diverse internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred:
Experience working with Neuromuscular and Rare diseases.
Recent global or regional/above country experience,
Experience with digital transformation, omnichannel launch, or innovative go-to-market models.
