The Commercial Portfolio Manager drives data-based strategies and active management of the commercial portfolio to maximize the value of non-priority and non-promoted brands. The role focuses on innovative go-to-market models, commercial alliances and partnerships, and lifecycle management, while overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and performance vigilance to sustain portfolio performance in a resource-constrained environment.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Define and execute the commercial portfolio management plan in line with overall Commercial Portfolio strategy, ensuring value maximization across non-priority and mature brands.
Identify, assess, negotiate, and manage strategic commercial partnerships and alliances, ensuring alignment with portfolio objectives and measurable value creation.
Oversee portfolio budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and disciplined investment allocation across brands.
Monitor portfolio and brand performance vigilance in collaboration with Execution Excellence, tracking market trends and translating insights into portfolio decisions.
Lead lifecycle management activities including onboarding of brands from TAs, LoE preparation, post-LoE value retention, and late-stage lifecycle strategies.
Partner with Legal, Value & Access, Finance, Regulatory, and Supply Chain to manage erosion scenarios, stock optimization, recalls, packaging topics, and regulatory adjustments.
Pilot innovative commercial and partnership models with potential for regional or international scalability.
Drive compliant digital promotion of portfolio brands through appropriate channels, content governance, and performance optimization.
Collaborate with TA Heads to identify synergies and leverage digital and commercial assets to support priority and portfolio brands.
Contribute to portfolio prioritization, investment discipline, and overall financial and operational performance across the commercial portfolio.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, science or related field (advanced degree preferred), fluent English and Hungarian, with 8–12 years of experience in portfolio management, commercial operations, finance, or related roles.
Proven experience is preferred in portfolio management of mature and non-priority brands, including onboarding, LoE planning, and post-LoE value retention strategies.
Strong track record in budgeting, forecasting, P&L management, and commercial analytics within a regulated industry, preferably pharmaceuticals or healthcare.
Demonstrated expertise in identifying, negotiating, and governing commercial partnerships and alliances with measurable business impact.
Solid understanding of lifecycle management, investment discipline, and prioritization frameworks across competing brands.
Experience in regulated digital marketing execution, including content governance, channel optimization, and performance monitoring.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market, financial, and performance data to support data-driven decisions.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional collaboration across Finance, Legal, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Market Access, and commercial teams without direct authority.
Enterprise mindset with strong communication, stakeholder management, and operational excellence focus, operating effectively in resource-constrained environments.
