At Devoted Health, we’re on a mission to dramatically improve the health and well-being of older Americans by caring for every person like family. That’s why we’re gathering smart, diverse, and big-hearted people to create a new kind of all-in-one healthcare company — one that combines compassion, health insurance, clinical care, service, and technology - to deliver a complete and integrated healthcare solution that delivers high quality care that everyone would want for someone they love. Founded in 2017, we've grown fast and now serve members across the United States. And we've just started. So join us on this mission!

Job Description

A bit about this role:

We are planning to deliver the best care for consumers in healthcare - and that’s going to require some new and better tools, and some new and better data analytics. Most healthcare teams don’t have the tools and data they want at their fingertips. Their systems are siloed, high latency, and transaction focused… all of which make it difficult to move healthcare to a world where we pay for value and care for members seamlessly. So while we are gearing up to deliver outstanding care, we are also building the tools that the whole industry needs to transition to better care instead of just more care. This will be the first platform of its kind in healthcare.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager with a strong background in healthcare, especially with experience in the payer/insurance sector. The ideal candidate should have a track record of quickly acquiring knowledge of new domains, a proven ability to dissect highly complex problems, and demonstrated successful partnership with operational stakeholders to scale and achieve targeted operational outcomes using a data-driven approach. In this role, you will have the opportunity to radically scale the management of our delegated vendor operations (e.g., Pharmacy Benefits Manager, Supplemental Benefit Vendors, etc.).

Responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborate closely with the business operations team to define & internalize key operational objectives and performance indicators. Utilize innovative approaches to identify technological solutions to support these goals and drive continuous improvement to the KPIs.

  • Develop and implement an outcome-driven product roadmap to bolster and scale our delegated partners operations spanning the pharmacy, supplemental benefits, and our core data exchange platform.

  • Lead the prioritization and execution of technical improvements essential for achieving the outcomes. Foster close collaboration with counterparts and stakeholders from operations, engineering, data, and other relevant teams throughout the organization.

  • Take ownership of managing the product improvement backlog, ensuring clear articulation of business requirements (e.g., problems to solve, new business needs), define epics and user stories across technical improvement areas such as engineering and data.

Attributes to success:

  • A super proactive “get it done” attitude — and the skills to back it up. Love the details and organizational skills are a strong-suit.

  • Strong passion in process improvements leveraging technology to achieve business outcomes

  • Strong analytical skills, love digging into data and making data-driven decisions. SQL Proficiency is strongly preferred.

  • The uncanny ability to get everyone on the same page in a complex cross-functional environment

  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to clearly articulate needs, objectives, priorities, and strategy in writing

  • Ability to manage a wide array of stakeholder groups; including the ability to listen and solicit carefully and synthesize all their input into an action plan, then communicate it back to them — and eventually, the whole company

  • Comfort with the uncertainty inherent in a startup

  • Deep desire to make U.S. healthcare better

Required skills and experience:

  • 7+ years of product management or product development experience

  • A proven track record of shipping products with business value

  • A history of translating customer insights into tools that customers love to use

  • Excellent communication skills — you will need to work with a highly cross-functional team

  • Hands-on experience in operations, operations strategy, and engineering

  • Knowledge of healthcare, or an enthusiasm to learn
