In partnership with Senior Leadership and in line with the corporate agenda, sets a 2-3 year strategic vision for their product / service and coaches and mentors their leaders and clinical teams to execute against it in a way that drives outcomes. Seeks opportunities for alignment and partnership with clinical peers, supporting clinical integration and innovation.
Ultimately accountable for sponsoring service lines that:
Deliver safe, high quality, efficient clinical services that improve health outcomes for engaged individuals
Deliver a clinical experience that drives appropriate re-engagement with IH, especially among highest value members
Attract and retain a diverse, top pool of clinicians and talent that align with company vision and goals
Creatively uses data to inform decisions, where available, but also uses content knowledge, stakeholder input, and experience to guide decisions in its absence.
Serves as the voice of the service line in internal meetings and key external conversations, translating day-to-day work into themes, priorities, and narrative. Increasingly seeks, though, to represent the broader CHO perspective in conversations, understanding the seams and nuances between services and identifying themes across. Creates realistic optimism in messaging, despite challenges and opportunities.
Partners with Product, Care, GMs, and other stakeholders on key program strategy and design features to ensure the service line is optimized for clinical outcomes, member experience, scale, and provider experience. Serves as a champion of individual service line(s), but actively seeks opportunities to reduce seams between teams and services and find common themes and wins.
Partners with the Clinical Quality Team to ensure that QA efforts and operational processes support the delivery of safe, high-quality clinical care on their service lines.
Serves as a voice for clinical quality and patient safety in broader interactions on behalf of CHO.
Represents products and services in external meetings with prospects and clients, engaging in tactical and strategic discussions around program improvement and innovation.
The Medical Director will dedicate approximately 20 hours per week to clinical care of patients; in the course of clinical duties, MD/CD will display exemplary levels of professionalism and clinical quality in all dealings with patients, and will maintain and complete charting and documentation in a timely manner.
Medical Directors will perform other administrative duties and projects on an as needed basis. This position will report to the Senior Clinical Director, Navigation, at Included Health.

Responsibilities:

  • The success and program management of the Included Health TCN program
  • Coach and mentor clinicians within the practice, promoting a safe learning and practice environment.
  • Proactively manage individual performance and ensure standards for performance are met, taking appropriate corrective action when necessary in collaboration with Talent & Organization (TAO) partners.
  • Conduct regular meetings with staff to provide performance feedback and ensure engagement with the practice
  • Creatively uses data to inform decisions, where available, but also uses content knowledge, stakeholder input, and experience to guide decisions in its absence
  • Serves as the voice of the service line in internal meetings and key external conversations, translating day-to-day work into themes, priorities, and narrative.
  • Partners with the Clinical Quality Team to ensure that QA efforts and operational processes support the delivery of safe, high-quality clinical care on their service line
  • Ensuring workflows are efficient and up-to-date
  • Partnering closely with key stakeholders in Care and Case management (CCM), Utilization Management (UM) as well as member care operations to deliver an exceptional member experience
  • Displaying focus towards continuous improvement, pilots alternative solutions that improve team productivity, workflows, member experience, and efficiency aligning directly with our company values and goals
  • Responsibilities may shift over time depending on TCN and the clinical organization’s needs

Required Qualifications:

  • Be a licensed Physician or Nurse Practitioner in good standing with the medical board of their state
  • Compact license required
  • 5+ years clinical practice in outpatient clinic or hospital required
  • A minimum of 2-5 years of management experience in a health-related field
  • Previous people management and workflow management experience required
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail required
  • Data-driven and comfort in using tools to evaluate and optimize the standardization of care across our growing team
  • Ability to be agile and balance multiple priorities while maintaining positive and professional attitude
  • Demonstrates professional, appropriate, effective, and tactful communication skills, including written, verbal and nonverbal
  • Strong ambition and internal drive is essential to this position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project management experience preferred
  • Previous Case/Care Management or Value Based Care experience a bonus
  • Previous experience managing an in-home care team, or experience working in in-home settings a bonus
  • Resident of Arizona, Illinois, or Texas preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • This job operates in a professional, private and secure, HIPAA-compliant home office
  • Must be able to use manual dexterity while using office equipment such as computers, laptops, keyboard, and mouse
  • This position requires frequent communication with patients and physicians must be able to exchange accurate information during these patient encounters.
  • Specific identifying abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Occasional overnight business travel
The United States new hire base salary target ranges for this full-time position are:
Zone A: $188,270 - $265,930 + equity + benefits
Zone B: $216,511 - $305,820 + equity + benefits
Zone C: $235,338 - $332,413 + equity + benefits
Zone D: $244,751 - $345,709 + equity + benefits
This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for candidates based on their respective Zone. Below is additional information on Included Health's commitment to maintaining transparent and equitable compensation practices across our distinct geographic zones.
Starting base salary for the successful candidate will depend on several job-related factors, unique to each candidate, which may include, but not limited to, education; training; skill set; years and depth of experience; certifications and licensure; business needs; internal peer equity; organizational considerations; and alignment with geographic and market data. Compensation structures and ranges are tailored to each zone's unique market conditions to ensure that all employees receive fair and competitive compensation based on their roles and locations. In addition to earning a base salary, this role is eligible for a performance-based bonus. Details of the Annual Bonus Plan, including performance metrics, target incentives, and potential earnings, will be discussed during the interview process.
