Roles & Responsibilities:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Associate Scientist to join our Research team, reporting to the VP of Research & Development and working on-site in our office and laboratory in Seattle’s Eastlake neighborhood. The successful candidate will serve as a technical subject matter expert for in vivo modeling, making valuable contributions both independently and as part of a cohesive team, driving multiple projects forward. In this lab-based role, you will work both independently and collaboratively across the design, execution, analysis, and communication of studies to leadership and key stakeholders. Additionally, you will have numerous opportunities to explore and develop new skill sets and techniques across a wide range of model systems, with a heavy emphasis on pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and toxicology in mouse models. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation in immunology and immunooncology mouse modeling and will bring passion and inquisitiveness to tackle the many challenging problems that come with developing innovative therapies.
A typical day may involve the following activities:
- Leading or supporting in vivo mouse studies, including preparing tumor cells for implantation or engineered immune cells for infusion, tumor growth measurements, conducting blood collection and tissue harvest for mechanistic, pharmacokinetic, and toxicology assays and analyses
- Training team members on established in vivo protocols and techniques
- Developing new mouse models that enable rigorous functional and mechanistic characterization of product candidates
- Developing protocols and documenting reports and experiments in an electronic lab notebook
- Actively engaging and contributing to team meetings, discussions, and decisions
- Compiling, analyzing, and presenting data to various audiences, including executive leadership, and advisory boards
We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications:
- BS or MS degree in biology, immunology, or related discipline with 6+ years of post-bachelor’s experience and 4+ years of industry experience
- Strong experience with in vivo models and techniques (e.g., mouse handling, SC/IV/RO injection, curiosity-driven interest for novel model development)
- Strong expertise with mammalian cell line and primary cell culture
- Proficiency in understanding and hands-on execution of standard in vitro immunological assays (flow cytometry, cytokine production, cytotoxicity assays)
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs, GraphPad PRISM, Flowjo
- Exceptional organization and communication skills
- Enthusiasm to work collaboratively in a team environment, meet deadlines, and balance time and effort across multiple workstreams
What you should know:
- The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $110K-$140K.
- The base pay offered may vary depending on a variety of individualized factors, including the relevance, and years, of the applicant’s experience, job-related knowledge, skill set, certifications, qualifications, and/or professional licenses held, and market location.
