Johnson & Johnson is hiring for a EH&S Specialist – Shockwave Medical to join our team located in Santa Clara, CA.
Fueled by innovation at the intersection of biology and technology, we’re developing the next generation of smarter, less invasive, more personalized treatments. Ready to join a team that’s pioneering the development and commercialization of Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL) to treat complex calcified cardiovascular disease. Our Shockwave Medical portfolio aims to establish a new standard of care for medical device treatment of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease through its differentiated and proprietary local delivery of sonic pressure waves for the treatment of calcified plaque.
Position Overview
EH&S Specialist will provide support to implement and monitor the Environmental, Health and Safety programs for our Santa Clara, CA site.
Essential Job Functions
Ensures compliance with local, state and federal EH&S regulations.
Provides technical expertise for EH&S programs.
Conducts job hazard analyses and risk assessments.
Performs safety audits, safety observations and inspections.
Assists with the development and delivery of EH&S training.
Assists to conduct incident investigations and root cause analysis.
Supports efforts to drive corrective and preventive actions management process.
Reviews new hazardous materials, new processes, new equipment to ensure they meet the EH&S requirements.
Reviews and maintains SDS database and site chemical inventories.
Supports ISO 14001 process and its maintenance.
Supports Environmental Social Governance (ESG) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects.
Supports the hazardous and biologic waste programs by managing accumulation containers, labeling, shipping preparation inventories and manifest recordkeeping.
Participates in the emergency response team.
Keeps track of key performance indicators.
Assists with the setup & implementation of critical EHS tracking within the Facilities CMMS system.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a related field, and 2-7 years of experience.
Experience in a manufacturing and controlled environment room (CER) a plus.
Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulatory agencies and requirements.
Uses persuasive techniques to influence others without reliance on formal authority.
Experience with EH&S tracking systems.
Strong problem solving skills and ability to execute programs with minimal supervision.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
Operate as a team and/or independently while demonstrating flexibility to changing requirements.
There may be continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8-hour day).

Additional Information
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
