We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our growing engineering team as we continue our mission to help patients and their doctors unlock access to specialty expertise. The ideal candidate is someone who has deep expertise building products as a backend engineer, values ownership, and is excited about frequently shipping features that lead to better patient care.

Skills you'll bring

You are a seasoned software engineer with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience and fluent in Python
You've designed and implemented complicated data architectures for a real-world service in SQL relational storage systems
You understand modern web architecture - how the pieces fit together, how to build robust and reliable services, how to manage complexity, performance and scalability as a service grows, and how to build forward-thinking APIs
You have experience in leading the development process from initial conversations with a customer, designer, or product manager to launch
You like working in a collaborative environment with a light Agile process, learning new things, and mentoring others
You’re capable of solving whole problems with lots of ambiguity. We’re a startup doing things that nobody has done before. This means building things with imperfect information and building for adaptation when your assumptions are wrong. It’s not for everyone.
You care about building an engineering culture based on diversity, respect, recognition, and trust
You are interested in maturing the practices of a rapidly growing engineering department

Extra bonus skills

You have designed and scaled services in AWS
Experience with complicated healthcare delivery systems, coordinating workflow across multiple clinical systems
You’ve designed secure systems with HIPAA and HITRUST in mind
Experience with Node.js
Experience with React or other front-end JS frameworks
