Who you are:

We’re looking for a Software Engineer III to be responsible for developing infrastructure as a service including building scalable and reliable systems, code quality, and engineering efficiency. Ensures the high-quality delivery of our software with a rapidly growing team by building the frameworks and tools needed by software engineers and data scientists to thoroughly validate, deploy, and monitor their code. Acts as a champion for best practices and as a quality mentor to the rest of the engineering organization. Develops and maintains tools used by engineering for monitoring, event collection, and downtime tracking. Develops deployment and automation tools to manage a rapidly growing number of services. Drives improvements in security, scalability, reliability, and performance. Troubleshoots large-scale distributed systems (hardware, software, applications, and network). Develops continuous integration systems and tests frameworks and work with other teams to gather requirements and disseminate to the rest of the team. May telecommute from any location in the U.S.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • This position requires a Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and 2 years of related experience.

  • Must also have 12 months of experience with each of the following:

    • 1) Designing and architecting frameworks and solutions on AWS;

    • 2) Maintaining deployment tools in a cloud infrastructure with programming languages such as Python;

    • 3) Designing deployment mechanisms such as Blue/Green and Canary deployments using CI/CD pipelines;

    • 4) Designing and architecting deployment and automation tools; and

    • 5) Engineering ETL pipelines using AWS S3, EMR, Athena, Step Functions, and Lambda.

  • Will accept experience gained before, during, or after Master’s program. Will accept experience gained concurrently.

  • Full-time, position may telecommute from any location in the U.S.

  • Salary: $165,000/year
